What is silica gel?
Silica gel is a transparent, glass-like, granular particles, usually obtained by the reaction of sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, and after a series of processes such as aging and acid bubbles. Its main component is silica. As a desiccant, it has an average pore size of 2.4 nanometers and has a strong affinity for water molecules. It absorbs water through physical adsorption, does not change its state after absorbing moisture, and has a strong hygroscopic ability, which can effectively protect food or medicine from moisture.

Silica gel is a high-activity absorbent with the capability of absorbing more than 40% moisture of its weight.
It has a stable chemical property and never reacts with any substances except the alkai and hydrofluoric acid, which decides it has a lot of features that can't be replaced by other materials, such as high absorption capacity, non-toxic, oderless and environment friendly.
And silica gel is the only desiccant can contact with the food and pharmaceuticals by FDA approval.
