Stretching film is the most common linear low-density polyethylene or LLDPE used in stretching packaging materials, which is formed by the copolymerization of ethylene and α- Alkenes, the most common of which are butene, hexene, and octene.
Using Advanced α- Alkenes (hexene or octene) can enhance the performance of stretch films, especially in terms of elongation at break and puncture resistance. Other types of polyethylene and PVC can also be used.
Generally speaking, the elongation at break of a thin film is about 500%, but it can only be stretched to 100-300% during use. After stretching, elastic recovery will be used to maintain a tight load.
