Product Description

Flap discs are used for heavy material removal, often weld removal. They outperform resin fibre discs due to their longer life and last twice as long as aluminium oxide discs. To achieve a finish equivalent to a resin fibre disc, always use a flap disc one grit coarser, i.e. if the operator is using a 60 grit resin fibre disc, try a 40 grit flap disc. This 40 grit flap disc is made with a zirconia alumina grit which is ideal for stainless steel and metal applications while still working well on non-ferrous applications. The Type 29 angled face allows 90% of the abrasive material to be in contact with the work surface, maximising the grinding area for greater ease, efficiency and speed. We use a high quality backing plate to absorb vibration. Specific applications include: weld blending, slag removal, deburring, edge blending, surface conditioning and general metal fabrication
