Albendazole is an anthelmintic or anti- worm medication. It prevents newly hatched insect larvae (worms) from growing or multiplying in your body.
Albendazole, developed by SmithKline Biochem (the predecessor of GlaxoSmithKline), is a broad-spectrum thiabendazole type intestinal disinfestant, which can be used for both human and veterinary purposes. It can inhibit the growth and reproduction of the worm, inhibit the intestinal tract or absorb proteins in cells, thereby causing the worm to be unable to absorb the sugars it relies on for survival, deplete its endogenous glycogen, inhibit the fumarate reductase system, and prevent the production of adenosine triphosphate, As a result, the insect cannot survive and reproduce, and eventually gradually dies due to energy depletion. Albendazole has the effect of completely killing hookworm and whipworm eggs and partially killing ascaris eggs. It is suitable for the treatment of echinococcosis (echinococcosis) and nervous system infections caused by worms in pork (cysticercosis). Roundworm disease and pinworm disease: take 400mg daily per time.
Hookworm disease, whipworm disease, stercoralis disease: take 400mg each time, 2 times a day, continue for 3 days.
