Features:
- Made from high-strength titanium, offering excellent biocompatibility and resistance to corrosion.
- Designed for retrograde insertion through the knee to provide stable fixation for distal femur fractures.
- Available in various diameters and lengths to cater to different patient anatomies and fracture types.
- The retrograde insertion technique minimizes tissue disruption and promotes faster recovery.
- Equipped with interlocking screws for enhanced fixation, preventing rotational and axial instability.
Intended Use:
The femoral retrograde intramedullary nail II is used for internal fixation of distal femoral fractures. It is inserted retrogradely through the knee joint, providing support for fractures involving the distal femur and the knee, particularly in cases requiring enhanced rotational stability.
Indications:
- Distal femur fractures
- Supracondylar femoral fractures
- Femoral shaft fractures extending into the distal region
- Knee fractures involving the distal femur
- Femoral fractures in elderly patients with osteoporotic bone
Contraindications:
- Active infections in the knee or surrounding areas
- Severe osteoporosis limiting implant fixation
- Known allergies to titanium or its alloys
- Pediatric patients with open growth plates
- Deformities of the femur that prevent successful retrograde insertion
