Dow FILMTEC™ anti-seawater filtration (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membrane technologies are recognized as the most efficient and economical critical components for treating natural brackish and seawater, whether used in small or large water treatment systems. RO and NF can be used alone or in combination, or in combination with other processes such as ion exchange to reduce regenerant consumption and wastewater volume while producing higher quality pure water, or in combination with distillation processes to improve equipment utilization, reduce energy consumption and obtain compliant finished water.
Membrane elements under the Dow FILMTEC™ brand have a spiral roll structure, referred to as a roll structure. The membrane bag consists of a multi-leaf membrane bag, and each leaf membrane bag is composed of two membranes facing each other, a product flow channel placed between the two membranes and a turbulent grid inlet channel placed on the surface of the membrane. The membrane bag is sealed with adhesive on three sides, and the fourth side is opened on a perforated water collection pipe. Compared with other component structures, such as pipe, plate and hollow fiber, it has many advantages, such as uniform water flow distribution, high pollution resistance, low replacement cost, simple external pipeline, easy cleaning and maintenance, and large design freedom, and has become the main membrane component structure.
