Stevia is a new natural sweetener refined from the herbaceous plant stevia (or stevia leaf) , which has been used as an herb and sugar substitute in South for centuries. China is the world's leading producer of stevioside. It is 250-450 times sweeter than sucrose and has a slightly astringent taste.
