The reactive material is provided with a a glass mesh. The mesh is used to maintain the dimensional stablity of the materials in case of fire and prevents the materials from contracting. which can with or without self-adhesive tape.
Intumescent Pipe Wrap offers a low cost, easily installed alternative to metal-cased pipe collars. They have been designed for use on uPVC thermally-softening pipes in situations where the wrap will be fully "cast in" to the structural element.
Fire Wrap is designed to maintain the fire resistance of fire separating walls and floors when these are breached by continuous plastic pipes or metal pipes with combustible insulation and may be used in gypsum, masonry or concrete walls and concrete floors. Each pipe wrap consists of a graphite based reactive intumescent strip which reacts to heat and closes the opening left by the softening plastic pipe or pipe insulation in fire.
