Indication:
It is a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in veterinary medicine to treat a range of bacterial infections, including respiratory diseases, mastitis, metritis, and foot rot in cattle, respiratory diseases in swine, and respiratory infections in horses.
Dosage and administration:
For Cattle and Sheep:
Dosage: 1 mg per kg body weight (1 ml of 2.5% solution per 25 kg body weight).
Administration: Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.
For Swine:
Dosage: 2 mg per kg body weight (0.8 ml of 2.5% solution per 10 kg body weight).
Administration: Intramuscular injection.
For Horses:
Dosage: 1 mg per kg body weight (4 ml of 2.5% solution per 100 kg body weight).
Administration: Intramuscular injection.
Precautions:
1.Use with caution in animals known to have sensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
2.Use only when necessary and under the guidance of a veterinarian, considering potential risks to the offspring and milk quality.
3.Ensure accurate dosing based on the animal's weight. Overdosing or underdosing can lead to treatment failure or adverse effects.
