Solubility: It is highly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is weakly acidic. It is also soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. Gadolinium chloride hexahydrate gradually loses its water of crystallization when heated.
Uses
Medical Field: In magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), complexes of gadolinium chloride are often used as contrast agents. They can enhance the image contrast, helping doctors to observe the internal structures of the human body more clearly and assisting in disease diagnosis.
