Basic Characteristics: HDPE is an opaque white waxy material, specific gravity is lighter than water, specific gravity is 0.941~0.960, soft and toughness, but it is slightly harder than LDPE, and it is also slightly elongated, non-toxic and odourless.
Combustion characteristics:flammable, can continue to burn after leaving the fire, the upper end of the flame is yellow, the lower end of the blue, combustion will melt, there are liquid drops, no black smoke, at the same time, issued by the paraffin wax burning odour.
Main advantages: Acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, excellent electrical insulation, low temperature, can still maintain a certain degree of toughness. Surface hardness, tensile strength, rigidity and other mechanical strength are higher than LDPE, close to PP, tough than PP, but the surface finish is not as good as PP.
Main drawbacks: poor mechanical properties, poor air permeability, easy to deform, easy to age, easy to be brittle, brittle than PP, easy stress cracking, low surface hardness, easy to scratch. Difficult to print, when printing, the need for surface discharge treatment, can not be plated, the surface has no luster.
