Most sheets are produced from cast ingots for use in coating and thin film Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes including Thermal and Electron Beam (E-Beam) Evaporation, Low Temperature Organic Evaporation, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Organometallic and Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) for specific applications such as fuel cells and solar energy. Thickness can range from 0.04" to 0.25" for all metals. Materials are produced using crystallization, solid state and other ultra high purification processes such as sublimation. American Elements also casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar, or plate form, as well as other machined shapes and through other processes such as nanoparticles and in the form of solutions and organometallics. 1, It is useful because it is easy to emit electrons (such as a filament used as an incandescent lamp). Used as a cathode of an X-ray tube, an alloy of tantalum and tungsten or molybdenum is used as an electrode of a high voltage discharge tube. Often used as a cathode and tungsten wire manufacturing industry for X-rays.

2, Pure tantalum has plasticity, easy processing, high temperature and corrosion resistance, and is an important material in the atomic energy industry. The thermal neutron capture cross section of the crucible is an ideal neutron absorber, which can be used as a control rod and protection device for the atomic reactor.

Hafnium can be used as getter of many inflation systems. The hafnium getter can remove oxygen, nitrogen and other needless gases existing in the system. Hafnium is also used for nuclear reactor control rods.
