Alloy Cast Retort, Muffle, Furnace Tank
for Gas Carburizing Furnace, Made of Heat Resistant Alloy Steel
The retorts can be round, rectangular or "D" shaped. They can have corrugations for extra strength. Typical alloys used are HK, 304, 316, 330, 600 and 601. These are all nickel based alloys with varying degrees of high temperature strength and corrosion resistance.
The main advantage of the retort method of containment is that it provides the cleanest, purist environment to contain the atmosphere.
| Retort | Retort, also named as Muffle or Furnace Tank. Mainly used at industrial heat treating process under protective atmosphere, where the proccess is occured inside of Retort. The atmosphere containment is to put the atmosphere into an alloy retort. The retort (or muffle) is heated externally either by gas or electric power. Typically retort (muffle) is casted / welded, with clamps welded or investment casted together if retort (muffle) casted. |
