Heavy-Duty Lathe Open- or Close-Type Steady Rests

1. Lathe support rollers to support very heavy cylindrical workpieces with weight up to 80 metric tons and with diameter up to 2000mm the maximum swing over the cross slide of the large horizontal lathes or large deep-hole boring machines;
2. Bottom of the lathe support roller, custom made to fit the bed-ways on the lathe and mount with close fit on the lathe;
3. The base of the lathe support roller is made of high-strength, close-grained and stress-relieved nodular cast iron and sustains high rigidity and high stability on its sizes and shape;
4. Rollers are made of heat-treated AISI 4145H steel, case-hardened to a hardness of HRC 49-52 and ground to a surface roughness no more than Ra0.8µ M. Therefore, the support roller allows the workpiece being carried and rotated at a high speed with minimum friction between the rollers and the workpiece;
5. Each support roller is supported by high precision roller bearings to ensure an accurate and stable supporting for the workpiece;
6. Usually support rollers carrying up to 2000mm and 80 metric tons are supplied, but larger ones can also be custom made as per your request.
