This trailer is a self-supporting, non-powered unit with axles at both the front and rear. The front axle is connected via a drawbar, which allows the axle to pivot and steer based on the direction of the drawbar's movement. This configuration is commonly known as a "dolly."
Key differences between a semi-trailer and a drawbar full trailer include:
- A semi-trailer lacks front wheels and is supported by a kingpin that fits into a fifth-wheel or turntable coupling on the towing vehicle, with the trailer's front end resting on the rear wheels of the prime mover.
- Conversely, a drawbar full trailer features its own front and rear axles and is connected to the towing vehicle through a drawbar, providing independent support and enhanced maneuverability.
