Product Description
Hexamethyldisilazane, colourless transparent liquid. Easily hydrolysed, releasing NH3 and generating hexamethyldisiloxane. In the presence of catalyst, react with alcohol or phenol to form trimethyl alkoxysilane or trimethyl aryloxy silane. Reacts with anhydrous hydrogen chloride, releasing NH3 or NH4Cl to form trimethylchlorosilane. It can be produced by reacting trimethylchlorosilane with NH3. Used as surface hydrophobic treatment agent of fumed silica and reagent to provide N atom in organic synthesis reaction, also used as auxiliary agent of silicon carbide fibre to improve the heat resistance and strength of silicon carbide fibre, and also used as antiprecipitation agent of paint.
