Material Description
Metal Matrix Composites (MMC), a newest and superior materials offering for wear parts. The composites combine tough metallic matrix and hard ceramic (or other hard metallic materials) together. In casting process, two kinds of material are thoroughly infiltrated and realize a preforms made of ceramic particles in wear surface. Under such operation, the wear parts retain the properties of metallic matrix and got optimum wear resistance (Hardness of Ceramic > 90 HRA).
The composites of medium or high chrome matrix steel with ceramics can significantly optimize the wear resistance of chrome white iron. a service life that is two to five times as long as that of chrome steel can be achieved. They are a better selection for wear parts, such as blow bars, grinding rollers, etc. and widely used in secondary crushing level with nature stone or river gravel, asphalt in case of smaller feed size (milled material) and without any iron content.
