What is Crystal Violet ?
Crystal violet is a triphenylmethane dye disinfectant, and it competes with the microbial enzyme system of hydrogen ions to make the enzyme in an inactive oxidation state, thereby exerting a bactericidal effect. It mainly kills Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Diphtheria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, and Epidermophyton, and has little effect on other Gram-negative bacteria and acid-fast bacteria. It is used for purulent infections of skin and mucous membranes, stomatitis caused by Candida albicans, and also for scalds, burns, etc.
