What is L-Methionine?L-methionine, also known as L-methionine, is the levoform of methionine, chemical formula is C5H11NO2S, chemical properties are colorless or white shiny flake crystal or white crystalline powder, with a special smell, taste slightly bitter. The melting point was 280-281 ºC. It is labile to strong acids and can lead to demethylation. "Dissolved in water (5.6g/100mL,30 ° C), warm dilute ethanol, alkaline solution or dilute inorganic acid." It is poorly soluble in ethanol.
