♦♦ Specific Application
1. Electroplating: Na cyanide is often used as an electrolyte for plating copper, zinc and silver in electroplating industry. It can form a complex with metal, help to form a protective film on the surface of the workpiece, and enhance the corrosion resistance and aesthetics of metal products.
2. Metallurgy: Na cyanide is used to extract gold, silver and non-ferrous metals in metallurgy. Through "heap leaching method", Na cyanide solution can dissolve gold and silver in ore and make them enter the solution for easy recovery.
3. Medicine: Na cyanide is used to synthesize a variety of pharmaceutical intermediates, such as diethyl malonate, which is the key raw material for the production of barbiturates and sulfonamides. In addition, Na cyanide is also used to produce vitamin B6 and folic acid.
