According to different working conditions, the coupling should have the following performance:
(1) Mobility. The mobility of coupling refers to the ability to compensate the relative displacement of two rotating members. Factors such as manufacturing and installation errors between connected components, temperature changes during operation and deformation under load all require mobility. Movable performance compensates or alleviates the additional load among shafts, bearings, couplings and other parts caused by the relative displacement between rotating components.
(2) cushioning. For the occasion of frequent load starting or working load change, the coupling should be provided with elastic elements with buffering and vibration reduction functions to protect the prime mover and working machine from little or no damage.
(3) Safe and reliable, with sufficient strength and long service life.
(4) Simple structure and convenient assembly, disassembly and maintenance.
