Function:
1.L-Glutamic acid monopotassium salt monohydrate acts as a common excitatory neurotransmitter like the agonist at kainate, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA) and quisqualate receptors in central nervous system. It is also used in cell culture as a component of MEM non-essential amino acids solution.
