High Temperature Coal Tar Pitch Used for The Production Electrode Paste

Coal tar pitch, a kind of artificial pitch, is generally viscous liquid, semi-solid or solid. It is black and shiny.

In the process of coal tar processing, the residue after the liquid fraction is removed by distillation is called
coal tar pitch. Coal tar pitch is the main component of coal tar, accounting for 50%~60% of the total amount.
Generally, it is believed that its main components are polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons and their derivatives.The specific composition of the compounds is complex,and the difference
of raw  coal types and processing technology will also lead to the difference of components,  The current
method is mainly based on the softening temperature.

Application:

1. As a fuel, due to its large solid composition, it is generally mixed with heavy oil or made into slurry for use,
which can partially replace heavy oil.

2. For the production of carbon electrodes,  the degree of carbon graphitization in coal tar pitch is relatively
high, and it can be used as electrode material, as well as as a sizing agent and binder. 

3. The coating is mainly used for waterproof coating of buildings and pipes after treatment and processing.
Epoxy coal tar pitch coating is one of the most widely used coatings.

4. Road building and building materials are generally mixed with petroleum asphalt. Compared with coal tar
asphalt and petroleum asphalt, there is an obvious quality gap and durability gap. 

5. Needle coke, activated carbon, carbon fiber and other high value-added products. Coal tar pitch has high
carbon residue value, many graphitization components and easy processing.

6. Other uses such as linoleum
