The dyeing lenses

The dyed lens is made by soaking the resin lens in hot water dissolved with organic pigment to make the lens colored. The shades of color can be controlled to a standard level, and can be dyed a consistent color throughout the lens, or can be gradually changing colors.
The dye is dispersed in a certain proportion into the solvent (dyeing solution), and the lens is immersed in the dyeing solution at a certain speed and frequency through the dyeing device, and the dye gradually penetrates into the lens matrix to make the lens color darker. The typical molecular structure of a dye is shown in the figure below. It can be seen that the structure contains various chromophore groups, which have strong absorption in a specific range of the visible spectrum, resulting in various colors. Under suitable process parameters, lenses can obtain a specific uniform color, also known as solid color, dyeing depth or gradient dyeing depth.
