Carbon Steel Rebar
Rebar is a surface ribbed bar, also known as ribbed steel, usually with 2 longitudinal ribs and evenly spaced horizontal ribs along its length. The shape of the cross-rib is spiral, herringbone and crescent-shaped. The nominal diameter is expressed in millimetres. The regular diameter of reinforcing bars are 8-50 mm and the recommended diameters are 8, 12, 16, 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm. Ribbed bars are mainly subjected to tensile stresses in concrete. Steel rebar has a greater bonding capacity with the concrete due to the ribs and is therefore better able to withstand the effects of external forces. It is used in a wide range of building structures, especially in large, heavy, light thin-walled and high-rise structures.
