Ion exchange process
In ion exchange, cations in water (e.g. Na +, Ca² +, K +, Mg² +, Fe³ +, etc.) are exchanged with H + + on a cation exchange resin, and anions in water (Such as chloride ions, bicarbonate and so on) are exchanged with OH on an anion exchange resin. Specific reactions are as follows:
Cation exchange: [R-H^+ + Na^+ \rightarrow R-Na^+ + H^+]
Anion exchange: [R-OH + Cl^- \rightarrow R-Cl + OH^-]

Regeneration process
