Calcium chloride is an inorganic salt that is soluble in water, and its common applications include brines used in refrigeration equipment, road ice melt, and desiccants.
Specific uses:
1. Desiccant, such as for the drying of gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride and sulphur dioxide.
2. Dehydrating agents, used as dehydrating agents in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylic resins.
3. Refrigerant, calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for freezers and ice making.
4. Antifreeze, can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar.
5. Used as demisting agent for harbours and dust collector for road surface.
6. Fabric fireproofing agent.
7. Used as protective agent and refining agent for aluminium and magnesium metallurgy.
8. Precipitating agent for producing colour pigment.
9. Used for deinking of waste paper processing.
10. Raw material for producing calcium salt.
11. Used as additive of lubricating oil.
