Meta-aramid felt is a high-temperature felt that protects against extreme heat.
Nomex® works as a flame-resistant material using three mechanisms.
First, the fibers absorb incoming heat, keeping it away from the wearer. Next, the fibers swell and thicken with heat to fill gaps in the apparel. Finally, the thickening and absorption of heat increases the fabric's insulating properties, offering further protection. This fire-resistant material is widely used in the production of protective apparel, coated industrial fabrics, insulation, aerospace fabrics, hot-gas filter bags, high temperature hoses, and the interior design of commercial transport aircraft.
