Product Description
The Type 609 incorporates all of the rugged features of the Type 604, but is intended for those demanding applications where a dependable, high-strength, rotating seal is preferred. A narrow cross-section design enables the Type 609 to fit in most popular pumps without expensive and time-consuming stuffing box modifications. This makes it the ideal seal for heat transfer and other applications that commonly use pumps with limited seal chamber clearances.
Materials of Construction:
Bellows: Heat-treated AM350 or Inconel 718
Adaptive Hardware: 300 Series Stainless Steel
Faces: Carbon, Tungsten Carbide, or Sealide®
Static Seals: Grafoil
Performance Capabilities:
Temperature: -75°C/-100°F to 425°C/800°F with Grafoil static packing
Pressure: vacuum to 20 bar/300 psi
vacuum to 69 bar/1000 psi
with DOUBLE-PLY bellows
Speed: to 25 mps/4500 sfpm for Types 606 and 609 to 50 mps/10,000 sfpm for Type 604

AK-609 is a high temperature (to 425°C/800°F) rotary seal head assembly, which contains all the sturdy functions of THIJO SDKJFAJF 604, but is suitable for those applications that require reliable and high-strength rotary seals. The narrow cross-section design allows the AK609 to be installed in the most popular pumps without expensive and time-consuming modifications to the sealed chamber. This makes it an ideal seal for heat transfer, hydrocarbons, and other applications, which typically use pumps with limited seal chamber clearances. Typical applications include hot hydrocarbons, aqueous solutions, aromatic fractionation products, crude oil fractionation products, and heat transfer fluids.
