Product Description
Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn., an annual or biennial herb of Compositae, is 1.2 meters high. The stem is erect, ribbed, rarely unbranched, the leaves are of the same color on both sides, green, with white spots, thin texture, large capitulum, the middle and outer layers of the involucral bracts are wide spoon shaped, oval, long rhombic to lanceolate, and the bracts are hairless. The outer and inner bracts are hard and leathery. The florets are reddish purple, rarely white, the filaments are short and wide, the achenes are compressed, the crown hairs are multi-layer, bristly, white, and they bloom and bear fruit from May to October.
