Sorbic acid is a preservative in food and beverages. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including molds, yeasts, and bacteria. Sorbic acid and its salts (such as potassium sorbate) are widely used to preserve a variety of foods including cheese, bread, yogurt, dried fruits, and beverages.
It inhibits the growth of mold and yeast in cosmetic products and pharmaceuticals.
Sorbic acid can be added directly to the dough, the dosage is 0.1%-0.15% (based on dough).
