Indication:
It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic primarily used in veterinary medicine to treat various bacterial infections, including respiratory, urogenital, gastrointestinal, and skin and soft tissue infections. It is also effective against conditions like foot rot, mastitis, and metritis in livestock. By inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, it prevents the growth and replication of bacteria.
Dosage and administration:
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration:
The general dose is: 10-20mg/kg body weight, daily.
Cattle, sheep, goats and horse: a single injection at a dose of 20 mg oxytetracycline per kg of body weight or 1 ml per 10 kg body weight for one treatment of at least 3 days.These doses maybe repeated during 4-5 days (If necessary )
Precautions:
1.Follow the recommended dosage for the specific animal species,overdosing or underdosing can lead to ineffective treatment or adverse effects.
2.Do not administer to cow or ewes during the milk production.
3.Use sterile needles and syringes.
4.Store oxytetracycline injection in a cool, dry place away from light and out of reach of children and animals.
