Application
Optical Brightener Odyssey OB is highly effective in polymer substrates such as engineering
plastics, PE PC, PVC, PS, ABS, and PP, adhesive and other organic substrates. Main
applications include fiber, molded article, film and sheet. And also can be used in clear lacquers,
pigmented lacquers, paints, printing ink and synthetic leather. Odyssey OB features excellent
resistance to heat, exceptional whitening properties, good properties, good light fastness and low volatility.
Dosage for reference(in each 100 kg polymers):
PVC: White 0.01-0.05% (10g-50g)
Tansparent 0.0001-0.001% (0.1g-1g)
PS: White 0.001% (1g)
Transparent 0.0001-0.001% (0.1g-1g)
ABS: Primitive color 0.01-0.05% (10g-50g)
White 0.001% (1g)
PE,PP: Achromaticity 0.0005-0.001% (0.5g-1g)
White 0.005-0.05% (5g-50g)
Other Plastics: Refer to the directions given above.
Packing and Storage
Packing 25kg/fiber drum with PE liner
Storage Keeping in stock ordinary chemicals. Wear protective goggles and gloves while
applying. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Soap clean if skin contaminated.

When Odyssey OB is used in PMMA polymerization, take care that the polymerization is conducted to full completion since interaction with residual monomer can cause discoloration in the final application.
