The main purpose of the primer is to strengthen the adhesive effect of films, tape or other self-adhesive materials.
Primer Application:
Primer is a light yellow transparent liquid. In order to improve the bonding performance, an adhesive is applied on the surface of the adherend before gluing. It interacts with water molecules in the air, can produce high adhesion, and has the ability to resist high temperature, especially when used with acrylic foam tape, it can have an excellent bonding effect.
Tackifier is a tackifier used together with tape,for many plastic, rubber, paint and bare metal substrates. The curve of the vehicle surface is high and low, and the bumps are pulled away from the depth to add the adhesive. Tackifier can be used to promote the adhesion of tape surfaces, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT mixtures, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces. The bonding surface must be relatively clean and dry, the contaminated surface should be clean, and a clean lint-free cloth should be used.
Primer application method:
The bonding surface must be clean and clean, and after the surface is completely dry, use a brush (no fibers must fall off) to apply the primer evenly on the surface to be adhered. The thickness of the coating is ultra-thin. The tape can be pasted after the primer is dry. This is usually It is 5 minutes at room temperature. To ensure that the primer surface is free of contaminants before using the tape, the porous surface usually needs to be evenly covered by two repeated cleaning processes to achieve good adhesion. Confirm the primer for the first time and apply the second layer after drying. Tackifier can be primed with a brush or cotton swab. It can also be applied with a pressure spray gun, knurled roller or other similar application equipment.
Precautions for primer:
1. Primer is a chemically active substance, so every time you use it, you only need to take out the amount of the day (8 hours), and the rest is still sealed and stored;
2. The operating environment should be well ventilated and kept clean. Adhesive tape and adhesive adhesion promoter speed up the initial adhesion speed of the tape and increase the adhesive force. Suitable for bonding surfaces: ABS, PET/PBT, blends, concrete, wood, metal, glass, etc.
3.Primer adhesion promoter cannot be used alone. It is not sticky when used alone. It must be used together with double-sided tape. Adhesion promoters are only auxiliary.
