PTFE O-Rings are an economic and efficient sealing element for a wide range of static applications, which serve as a barrier that blocks the leak paths between surfaces. They are more advantageous than other sealing systems thanks to simplicity of construction, standardized seal dimensions and low cost due to high volume manufacturing.

Sealing properties are always achieved through compression or a squeezing action, resulting in a deformation of the cross-section of the O-Ring.
O-Rings are mainly used for static sealing application in pipes, cylinders, bushings, stems, flanges and connections.

PTFE Filled Grades

Mechanical properties of the PTFE O-rings are often enhanced by adding fillers such as glass fibers, carbon, graphite, molybdenum disulphide, and bronze. Generally, the normal grade of non-filled PTFЕ O-rings maintains excellent chemical and high temperature characteristics, while fillers improve mechanical strength, stability, and wear resistance.

PTFE O-Rings are used wherever the chemical and thermal resistance of the normal elastomer O-Rings is no longer sufficient. These are primarily applications in the chemical industry, foodstuffs industry, pharmaceuticals and medical technology. PTFE O-Rings are used only as static seals, e.g.on flange connections, on covers, etc.
