Paper calender machine is applied after sheet goes out of dryer section, the repeat function process between smooth roll surface and coarse sheet surface, soft calendaring effect is to get paper's smoothness by heat and pressure function. soft calender, which replace common calender and super calenders, replaces repeated linear pressure of multi-roll through increase the surface temperature of rolls and width of nip, to reach the calendering effect.
The hard calender is used for calendering the paper surface on the paper machine,and it is an ideal supporting equipment for improving the quality of paper in the paper industry. The pressure of the calendering roller on the paper is controlled by the pressing and lifting device, so that the paper is calendered to improve the quality of the paper.
The calenders that are often done are: two rolls,three rolls, five rolls,six rolls (rarely), and more are generally super calenders (multiple rolls)
The width of the hard calender is usually from 1092-4800mm, and the maximum speed is 300m/min
Hard calenders are divided into in-line,oblique and horizontal,and the most common is in-line.
