Dies for RIDGID
Dies manufactured by TUWEI are High-Speed-Steel dies, High-speed steel (HSS or HS) is a subset of tool steels, commonly used as cutting tool material. It is often used in power-saw blades and drill bits. It is superior to the older high-carbon steel tools used extensively through the 1940s in that it can withstand higher temperatures without losing its temper (hardness).This property allows HSS to cut faster than high carbon steel, hence the name high-speed steel.
Based on the High-speed steel material, through a series of processes such as grinding machine milling machine heat treatment, Tuwei produced high quality dies with the hardness is 55~60HRC. In the prototype stage, we do fatigue testing in our laboratory, we tested short pipe with short threads, and long pipe with whole threads, the dies are still in good condition after making more than 5000pcs threads, when make 8019 pcs threads, the dies worn. We sent many samples to many customers and construction site in China and other countries, to search the feedback before mass production. Now we are sure that TUWEI dies have a good quality.
