Platinum-tungsten alloy wire is an alloy material formed by adding tungsten element with platinum as the matrixThis alloy has excellent physical and chemical properties and is widely used in scientific research, industry and aviation.
Physical and chemical properties: The formation of platinum-tungsten alloy wire is based on a simple clad crystal type phase diagram with a clad reaction temperature of about 2460°C. As the tungsten content increases, the strength of the alloy increases significantly. In particular, the platinum-rich single-phase solid solution containing less than 10% tungsten has good machinability and practical value. This alloy has high tensile strength, resistivity and resistance strain sensitivity, as well as excellent oxidation resistance, making it an excellent precious metal strain material.
Applications: Platinum-tungsten alloy wire is widely used, especially in scientific research and aviation. For example, PtW9.5 alloy has been successfully tested on rotating parts of aero engines and has shown its excellent properties. In addition, the development of China's aviation industry has also promoted the development and application of platinum-tungsten alloys, successfully trial-produced a variety of alloys, and invented a new type of high-temperature resistance strain alloy. Platinum-tungsten strain gauges are used in the manufacture of static resistive strain gauges, while the strongly hardened PtW4 alloy is used in the gates of spark plug electrodes and radar power tubes.
