The virgin grade PTFE is easily identified by its distinct, pristine white hue, setting it apart from its mechanical grade counterpart.
Made from a synthetic fluoropolymer, PTFE gaskets comprise pure tetrafluoroethylene, solely containing carbon and fluorine. This unique composition renders them inherently hydrophobic, effectively repelling water and water-containing substances, while featuring an exceptionally low coefficient of friction against any solid surface.
Renowned for its superb dielectric properties, PTFE provides remarkable thermal insulation and operates within a temperature range of -200°C to 260°C. PTFE stands as the most chemically resistant plastic available, unaffected by nearly all corrosive liquids, vapors, and gases.
