It is an alternative to the plaster cast. Fiberglass orthopedic casting tape is fiberglass cloth impregnated with a polyurethane resin, and upon contact with air or water will begin to solidify in 6-8 minutes. Ansen Fiberglass Cast Tape is weight-bearing within approximately 20 minutes.
What Is Casting Tape? Ansen Fiberglass Cast Tape is a type of medical tape that is used to create casts for broken bones. Ansen Fiberglass Cast Tape is a type of resin-impregnated fibrous cloth that hardens when exposed to air or water. What Is It Used For? Ansen Fiberglass Cast Tape is commonly used by orthopedic specialists to immobilize injured limbs. It can be used to stabilize broken bones,muscles, and torn ligaments. The tape provides support and protection while the injury heals and can be removed once healing is complete. How Does Fiberglass Cast Tape Work? Ansen Fiberglass Cast Tape is made from a stiff, yet pliable material called fiberglass. When the tape is exposed to moisture, it forms a hard shell around the area that it covers. This helps to keep the bone or joint in place so that it can heal properly.
************************Indication For Use***********************1. Cover the part to be treated with stockinette and put undercast padding around.2. Wear the protective gloves prepared. 3. Choose appropriate size of Ansencast. Open only one roll of Ansencast at a time. 4. Soak it in the room temperature water for 5-10 seconds and brush off the water. 5. Wrap Ansencast spirally, taking care to avoid excessive tightness. 6. In general, put 3-4 layers but for the part that needs to support body weight put 5-6 layers. 7. Smooth and rub the surface to achieve good contact between layers. 8. After 3 - 15minutes of application setting is ready and 20minutes after setting. It can perfectly support the weight.
