Antimony trioxide is an additive flame retardant, which is often used with other flame retardants and smoke suppressants, and the synergistic effect can be produced between the components.
At the initial stage of combustion, antimony trioxide is first melted, forming a protective film on the surface of the material to isolate the air, and reducing the combustion temperature through the internal endothermic reaction.
At high temperatures, antimony trioxide is vaporized, diluting the oxygen concentration in the air and thus playing a flame retardant role.
