CENTER PLATE
TEDRAIL supply two type of center plate.
One is Top Center Plate or Upper Center Plate as well as called Body Center Plate. It has been used on almost all wagon design. A railroad car body has a longitudinally extending center sill, and a main bolster extending transversely relative to the center sill. The center plate is mounted under the center sill at the intersection of the center sill and the main bolster.
Other type of center plate is Lower Center Plate as well as called Bogie Center plate. Normally the center plate has been fixed on a truck bogie by bolts and nuts, which supports the rail road car body for rolling motion along the rail road tracks.
Upper center plate and lower center plate is working together to link the car body and truck bogie to move forward.
Tedrail supply the center plate by casting steel and forged steel according to different customers' wagon design. Such as:
AAR type forged center plate, normally forged using material as AISI 1030, normalized and bearing face is heat treated by Flame Quenching. The center plate is AAR certified and strictly in accordance with the requirement of AAR S-211 and S-204 Standard.
AAR type casting center plate, normally casted using material AAR M-201 Grade B, B+,C, normalized and bearing face is heat treated by Flame Quenching. The center plate is AAR certified and strictly following AAR S-211 and S-204 Standard.
European type forged or casting center plate, also called pivot, are kinds of spherical type center plate. The center plates are normally used on European fabricated bogie such as Y25 series, Y32 series.
