Description:
3-Mercaptopropionic acid is a direct raw material for organic chemicals, used in pharmaceutical intermediates and electronic chemicals; it is used as an intermediate for the pharmaceutical Fenalide, and is also used as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. Like thioglycolic acid, it can be used for transparent products, and has very good thermal stability, which is better than other stabilizers; it is also used as an antioxidant, catalyst and biochemical reagent.
3-Mercaptopropionic acid is colorless or light yellow transparent liquid. Melting point 16.8ºC, boiling point 114-115.5ºC (1.73kPa), 85-86ºC (0.Chemicalbook4kPa), relative density 1.2199 (20/4ºC), refractive index 1.4921, flash point 93ºC. Miscible with water, alcohol and ether.
