Product Description
Introduction
Screw type sludge thickening equipment is usually used for sludge after biological process and thickening prior to storage, digestion, and further dewatering. In WWTP, sludge concentration is about 0.2%-2%. After thickening, the solid content reaches 5% to 9%. Thus stable thickened sludge is provided for further dewatering equipment such as frame press. Also the dewatering efficiency and capacity are improved.
Structure
The filter cylinder is composed of fixed rings, moving rings and screw shaft. Each moving ring locates between fixed rings. The helical blades spinning makes moving rings move ups and downs continuously as the moving ring's diameter is slightly smaller than outer diameter of the screw, and moving ring is thicker than the spacer, which keeps the equipment working without clogging. The gap between the fixed ring and moving ring gets narrower gradually along with the transportation of sludge. After the sludge gets thickened and dewatered with the gravity effect, the liquid will be squeezed from sludge under the pressure from backpressure plate.
Working principle
When thickening unit is working, sludge is pushed forward to the discharge outlet by pressure from screw blades. The whole filter cylinder is composed of fixed rings, moving rings and a screw shaft. The space between screw blades gradually gets narrower which means the inner pressure gradually gets bigger. Then liquid is squeezed out from the sludge and leaks from the small gaps between rings. As the moving rings are pushed ups and downs by screw blade, the whole cylinder is well protected from blockage. The sludge cake goes out from discharge outlet after dewatering process.
