Product Description
Piperine is a broad-spectrum anticonvulsant that can be extracted from the dried nearly mature or mature fruits of the pepper plant (Piper nigrum L.) in the Piperaceae family. It demonstrates potent antagonistic effects against experimental electroconvulsions in mice and shows varying degrees of efficacy in countering seizures induced by pentylenetetrazol, etc., as well as those caused by intracerebroventricular injection of tubocurarine or glutamic acid, along with audiogenic seizures. It also exhibits therapeutic effects against certain types of epilepsy. Notably, piperine demonstrates higher toxicity to flies compared to pyrethrum.
