Ball transfer units
Ball transfer units are omnidirectional load-bearing spherical balls mounted inside a restraining fixture. They are identical in principle to a computer trackball (pointing device). Typically the design involves a single large ball supported by smaller ball bearings.Ball transfers increase the efficiency of conveyor systems, as objects can be quickly and easily transferred between machines or sections of the conveyor. They also increase the capacity of the conveyor, as they can handle heavier objects than traditional conveyor systems.
