Spinal Needle with Quinck Tip

A spinal needle is a needle used in regional anaesthesia involving injection of a local anaesthetic into the subarachnoid space, generally through a fine needle, usually 3.8 cm to 12cm long. The tip of the spinal needle has a point or small bevel. Recently, pencil point needles have been made available (Whitacre, Sprotte, & others).
The quincke needle is a sharp, beveled, hollow needle. Quincke-Babcock needle is a medium-gauge cannula with a short, sharp bevel and matching stylet, with the tip ground to match the bevel of the cannula. Labat's theory was that the shorter bevel acted as a wedge, pushing tissues aside rather than cutting them, and therefore minimising damage to the dura.
The spinal needle is made up of three parts, including spinal needle, stylet and sheath.
The spinal needle is made up of needle tube and hub. The needle tube is made of 304 stainless steel, the hub is made of K-resin.
The stylet is made up of stylet blade and button. The stylet blade is made of 304 stainless steel, The button is made of ABS.
The sheath is made of PP.
