Product Description
Propylene carbonate, also known as propyllidene carbonate, propylene glycol carbonate, 1, 2-propylene glycol carbonate, 4-methyl-2, 5-dioxopentyclo-1-one.
Preparation method:
Propylene oxide and carbon dioxide synthesis method: The industry mainly uses propylene oxide and carbon dioxide under a certain pressure addition, and then vacuum distillation. Reaction conditions are generally 150-160ºC, about 5MPa, the method has a high atomic utilization rate and is more environmentally friendly.
Phosgene method: the raw material propylene glycol and phosgene action, the formation of chloroformate hydroxyl isopropyl ester, and then with sodium hydroxide to produce propylene carbonate, and then the vacuum distillation of the finished product, but phosgene is highly toxic, the environment and equipment requirements are high, gradually eliminated.
Transesterification method: dimethyl carbonate or diethyl carbonate is prepared by transesterification reaction with propylene glycol, but this method has many reaction steps and high cost.
Chloropropanol method: First, chloropropanol reacts with sodium carbonate to form propylene oxide, and then reacts with carbon dioxide to form propylene carbonate. This method is complex and costly.
Packing, storage and transportation:
Galvanized or painted iron drum packing, net weight 250kg per barrel, can also be used IBC, TANK truck or ISO TANK; Storage warehouse ventilated, away from open flame, high temperature, separate from oxidizer.
