The Stump Grinder-mechanical Oscillating Head (Swaying Left and Right) is a device designed for efficient stump removal. These grinders are characterised by a head that can be swung left and right, increasing grinding efficiency and allowing flexibility in complex terrain conditions.

The machine works by moving the hydraulic lever to raise the cutting wheel in order to position the wheel a few inches above the ace to be cut. The wheel is then opened to allow it to rotate. By moving the hydraulic lever back and forth, the lateral movement of the wheel and teeth through the wood is what causes the chewing effect. Once the area is completely worn away, the wheel is raised and the machine moves forward and then lowered to grind another piece of the trunk, allowing for quicker stump grinding and increased efficiency through the side-to-side oscillating motion. These steps are repeated until the entire trunk is completely chewed.
