Glycerin is also called glycerin. Pure glycerin is a colorless, odorless, sweet, viscous liquid. Its boiling point is 290°C, its melting point is 17.9°C, and its relative density is 1.2613. Infinitely miscible with water, anhydrous glycerin is strongly hygroscopic. Glycerin is an organic compound known formally as glycerol. Its common source is vegetable oils. It is a colorless, odorless, nontoxic, viscous liquid at room temperature, and it has a sweet taste.
